Has anyone heard from RAND, Federal Trade Commission or Congressional Budget Office?
I got FTC
I've heard from all three.
I've got CBO & FTC...
how about board of governors for fed system?
The Board of Governors has already arranged interviews.
RAND has already scheduled many interviews.
I have an interview with the Board of Governors
Does anybody know how many people the board hires each year?
Many Feds have moved (in Macro, at least). Aggregating all people that I know of, a total of 8 Feds + the Board.
For the federal positions, there may be a delay in hiring because the last Congress failed to pass a budget. Every department is on stopgap funding. My friend had scheduled an interview in Chicago with Treasury, but then received a message that they could not fund the trip to Chicago. (I would think that this would not affect the Fed positions since the Fed essentially funds itself.)
I work for a gov't agency that almost always hires on the market. However, because we still have no budget and the one we are supposed to receive is tight, I suspect it will be difficult to receive approval to fill positions.
If you don't mind, check out this wiki and update the information when you get it. Just so we have something that's easy to read and dynamic. http://www.bluwiki.com/go/Econjobmarket Be sure to include the JOE link, the field, and indicate any other information that you think everyone would value.
