Did anyone here interview with Board of Governors? What were the interviews like? I am a fourth year and am curious. People in my department said that the interviewers were incredibly sharp and on target with their questions.
To 5:01: what is EEOC? I was asked to fill a affirmative action form yesterday. Today I sent them an email inquire them about my status, because they ask me to do this once I get flyout, so I did as they request. But they reply that they have a lot of excellent candidates, they have already invited three on campus, something like this. I think I did quite well with this university, I enjoyed talking with them. The scheduled interview time is 45 minutes, but they interviewed me for almost one hour.At the end of the interview, they tell me a lot of good things about the place of Rose-hulman, I didn't even ask about the living there. When I know I am turned down today, I am a little curious why? Because I think I did best for this one.
Equal Employment Opportunity Commission? I intended it to mean the affirmative action card.
In my own experience and that of others in my department, feeling like you did well on an interview and getting a flyout are surprisingly uncorrelated. I think that if the SC is really friendly, then every candidate leaves feeling that they nailed it. Their relative performance, however, is only average and if they were not on the short list before, then they have no chance to improve their position.
8:45 PM: Imagine I said yes... That would make you freak out, and maybe (god forbit) accept a less attractive offer. Thus... DO NOT ASK SUCH QUESTIONS!!!
Yes, that's true. I should have said "I presume that if someone here is reading this, and has information, and is about to reply to this post with that information, then they probably would have been willing to post that information to the wiki."
There seems to be a dearth of offers if one is going by the wiki!
It makes sense that information has slowed down now. There seems to be a premium on anonymity, because employers could potentially take offense at your reporting about their actions (or possibly for other reasons). But of course it is hard to report a job offer anonymously. I have a feeling that in the future the key will be to get graduate students at the institutions in question involved, which should improve reporting for those schools with graduate programs.
Vermont, Hofstra, and Wisconsin La-Crosse have all made calls for fly outs, sorry. Hofsra told me that they were flying out only local candidates, so they might have had someone in mind for the job before the AEA meetings.
I am just curious now; how do you know about these 3 places: Vermont, Hofstra, and Wisconsin La-Crosse? How likely it is for the school hiring Macro to have a second round?
I emailed them and got those responses when I had either fly out interviews or my first offer. It never hurts to email, especially if you have not heard from them since the interviews.

I thought the interview with the Board was great. Bright people as you would expect, and very research-oriented.
5:11: Yes, McGill has their first flyback listed on their seminar page:
http://www.mcgill.ca/economics/seminars/
McGill: This is not a Macro fly out. The person does apply micro.
Well macro really IS just applied micro...right?
I think this is not the place to discuss the direction the field macro took. The McGill fly out is for Health, and health is not macro. Period.
Cambridge (UK) is having in
emanuel monch
catarina reis
Alexis Anagnostopoulos
More on Cambridge: The list at Cambridge so far is only a long list. The short list may not coincide with these.
Anyone got Rose-Hulman's campus visit?
Rose-Hulman sent out e-mails to their top choices saying that they were interested but could not yet offer flyouts to anyone.
I also received an EEOC request from them. Seems a little late given that I did not interview with them at the meetings.

Has the FED Board of Governors made offers?
i heard columbia made 2 offers
Elon only have two fly-outs
how about Hawaii now?
Has anyone heard about the South Carolina macro position? Have flyouts been completed?
I presume that if an offer were made, that info would be on the wiki.
That's quite a presumption: people don't seem to be sharing info very actively...
